✿ Overall Thoughts ✿
🌲 Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted? If you predicted anything.
I did alright! There's always the part of me that wants to be better than the previous year but I managed to write more or less the same so I want to say I am satisfied with it! I don't really do predictions, but there's always some kind of hope, right?
🌲 What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January, and was it as unpredicted as this entire year?
As fot fandom, I'll take Youtubers RPF with Sykkuno/Corpse husband, which I can safely say was very unpredictable because as far as I know they were not a thing this year. For pairing I am going to pick Handong/Yoohyeon, which was a request from a secret santa but that I had a surprisinly fun time writing!
🌲 What’s your own favourite story of the year? Compared to overall?
Probably... Take no prisoners? It was the one thing that I wrote for me, I think, and while I am not keen on re-reading, I smile every time I scroll through my works and I see it.
🌲 Do you have a story from previous years you now feel is underappreciated? Better than you remembered it to be?
I don't think so but I am also not the best judge for my writing.
🌲 Did you take any writing risks this year?
Writing for new fandoms!! New ships!! Making presents is so fun and taking risks is very rewarding for that (see, The King fic, or the Corpsekkuno ficlet!)
🌲 Biggest source of inspiration?
Girls. So many girls doing pretty mv's that I want to write about. Also friends ♥
🌲 Do you have any fanfic goals for the new year?
Keep it up, mostly. I want to keep going towards something, slowly but surely. I want to raise my average wc, but that will take time, so for now keep working on my consistency!
🌲 You survived a year! Did the circumstances drive your creative juices, or did it leave you as out of whack as it did everything else?
Eh, it allowed me to telework and be less tired to be able to work into the late hours of the night, so writing wise it did help.

🌲 My best story (or scene!) of this year:
Not the best by far but I am really proud about the canon Sua/Handong dealing with Handong's being trapped in China during the pandemic. Even if looking upon it might be OOC but I am still absurdly proud of it.
🌲 My most popular story of this year:
say what you mean, tell me i'm right (let the sun rain down on me) HANDS DOWN. It got more than 100 kudos in a day? I have been writing for kpop for so long that I am not used to a fandom that is... definitely bigger, if not more vocal.
🌲 Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:

Yes, we are racing, with 5.530 words!
🌲 Shortest story of the year:
it's a forced landing in your universe, with 468 words! However it was written in 2019. From the 2020 ones it would be you and me and the moon, with 625 words.

I... wow, I think I had lots of times with them? I mean writing itself it's still painful but I think I have had quite a lot of fun with all of them, which is a lot to say.
🌲 Story that needed the most research:
say what you mean, tell me i'm right (let the sun rain down on me) for sure, but it was easy when you have the research base as a friend :3
🌲 Story with the single sexiest moment:
Take no prisoners, that kissing while wet has my heart ♥
🌲 Story with the single cutest/sweetest moment:
Is it bad if I say that the dalgona neo fic with Hakyeon watching Taekwoon suffer fondly is the sweetest to me? It's such a "you're a little shit and I love you" moment to me!
🌲 Most “holy crap, that’s wrong, even for you” story:
I write gen and fluff, I don't think I have a good answer for this
🌲 Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:

🌲 Hardest story to write:
God all of the december stories were so hard to write, not because themselves but because I was so so tired. They aren't very long in themselves but I wrote about 12k in a month and that was... hard. Very hard. Probably reflected in the stories themselves, as things were probably rushed as they wouldn't have been otherwise, but now I have 4 finished stories for december so I am trying to not be too mad about it.
🌲 Biggest disappointment:
Not writing Seulrene :(
🌲 Biggest surprise:
I wrote a crossover!! That's probably my biggest one, yeah.
🌲 Most unintentionally telling story:
I don't know if unintentional but the one with Hakyeon coming back? It feels the one where I let most of me reflected there, with what I think, or hope, for the future.

It was... Something, for sure. Fandom has been a great coping method and I am happy with my progress even if I am not happy why it has been like that. I wrote for small things that I really enjoyed, like Sei/Lua, which was on a whim but I think it has a lot of potential and I wanna see it. Also more Dreamcatcher, and I am so happy about that! But also wrote as much VIXX too, which I am happy I haven't let it slip.

Keep writing, keep working out on things, even if they are silly. Maybe by always working on something I will manage to work on more things to myself, even if my one true purpose, the thing that really drives me, is to write for friends ♥

- Gahyeon learned from very early on in her career that there are certain things you were not able to answer clearly. Especially when you were an idol, always toeing with the invisible lines of being asked to answer truthfully without being too revealing.
- “One would think that in a place so full of cute puppies, people would be happier,” Byulyi mutters as she avoids being stepped on by yet another angry contestant.
- Handong stares at her arm the first time a soulmark appears. Feels her arm tickle as the lines appear, black and thin and perfect. She remembers every description she has read about them, about how they would feel, about how she would know. It’s everything she has ever read. It’s nothing she could ever describe.
Somewhere, Handong’s soulmate exists.
✿ Favourite Closing Lines: ✿
- Taekwoon’s only answer is to lean in, tilting his head up to meet his lips. It’s a convincing argument, Hakyeon thinks.
And he can get revenge later. - But Hyejoo will have found her happiness and the next morning she will tell her.
- And, looking at Taekwoon sleeping peacefully on his couch beside him, Hakyeon thinks how he might feel bold enough to finally have the kind of future he has never allowed himself to dream for.
How, in this new reality, everything seems possible.
✿ Favourite lines from anywhere: ✿
- Taekwoon’s not trying to be dramatic but if he doesn’t get this done in the next ten minutes he might jump off the balcony. He’s sure that he will be hearing the sound of the batting even after he’s done, even in his dreams.
- I guess I won’t take more pictures then
I would be a terrible girlfriend if I kept reminding you of your misery - “I’m tired,” they could hear Taekwoon say when they were within earshot, “I’m old and I’m tired, don’t I deserve a rest?”
