🍃 Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted? If you predicted anything.
I don't really make predictions, but I wrote less than last year so that's a little disappointing. But I try to think that I had big life things so considering that... I don't think I did bad.
🍃 What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January, and was it as unpredicted as this entire year?
ATEEZ, no question. Like, I don't think I could have planned it.
🍃 What’s your own favourite story of the year? Compared to overall?
For longer things Pull me closer, because it's the first time I tried a story written out of order and I didn't know if I would be able to do it -- and I did!
For shorter things the Hongbin surprise one, like. I had so much fun. So so much fun.
🍃 Do you have a story from previous years you now feel is underappreciated? Better than you remembered it to be? Generally any gen stories? Not that they aren't appreciated, it's just not what it's looked at, ig.
🍃 Did you take any writing risks this year?
I did! So many! I wrote aus! Adventure! Swordfighting! New fandoms!
🍃 Biggest source of inspiration?
Making my friends happy, like, no question. At least for this year. Also inserting Hongbin everywhere.
🍃 Do you have any fanfic goals for the new year?
Hoping to write for something that is not an event, be able to take my time to write it to completion. I feel like I am getting the hang of the planning part and the beginnings I am usually quite pleased with but the endings are... not my forte.
🍃 You survived a year! Did the circumstances drive your creative juices, or did it leave you as out of whack as it did everything else?
It left me without energy to write, which of course... ended up in less writing ㅠ.ㅠ

🍀 My best story (or scene!) of this year: I have been thinking about this and I really don't know which one to choose so I guess you'll have to read them all and get an opinion yourself? :D
🍀 My most popular story of this year: Pull me closer!
🍀 Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Gonna pass on this one.
🍀 Longest story of the year: This would be the pirate au, the way we rock it (it’s so magical)
🍀 Shortest story of the year: That would be i'll be waiting again for this night with 364 words.
🍀 Most fun story to write: The Hongbin Christmas surprise (all i want for christimas), like, without question!
🍀 Story that needed the most research: Uh. I guess the ficmix one (In the light of day (we are golden)) because it involved the most fitting to canon.
🍀 Story with the single sexiest moment: Pull me closer, I think. There's a tension moment in that one that I really really like.
🍀 Story with the single cutest/sweetest moment: all of my babies are the cutest, don't make me choose
🍂 Most “holy crap, that’s wrong, even for you” story: It's a stretch but I am going to say that Gahyeon working on a creepy hotel (what are people but deaths that haven’t happened yet?)
🍂 Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: That would have to be Pull me closer. Although it's not that much that it shifted but that it allowed me to put it into words.
🍂 Hardest story to write: Kbas fic (the way we rock it (it’s so magical)) for sure!! It had ANGST!!
🍂 Biggest disappointment: Not a disappointment per se because it holds a soft spot in my heart but for the weki meki fic I think I would have managed an ending that hit the emotion I wanted - but I managed to finish it, which is something I should be proud too!
🍂 Biggest surprise: I wrote so many new things! New ships, different ships, new fandoms!! The pinnacle of that would be let me be the one.
🍂 Most unintentionally telling story: I am gonna take a pass on this one but mostly because I am not sure whice one does say something about me?
✿ Favourite Opening Lines: ✿
After the night comes the sun will always shine. Everyone knows it, as inevitable as the moon coming after the day, no matter how we sometimes wish for time to stop. — the way we rock it (it’s so magical)
It’s silent for all of two seconds before Yoohyeon pops the question.
“Okay, but if you had to choose, would you rather get a zombie bunny or a vampire cat?” — Pull me closer
✿ Favourite Closing Lines: ✿
“You’re so lucky I’m going to support you when they fire you,” he types, before going back to finish the video.
The notification with the reply slides just as he hits play.

And there, finishing the Christmas decorations, are the rest of them too focused on their things to even see Hongbin. Standing there.

It’s not like it matters, she thinks, sliding down against one of the walls until she hits the floor. As soon as she steps out of this corridor she’s going to quit, she decides. Like, okay, she’s okay with the friendly plants that wrap around her neck whenever she gets close, and she’s fine with never understanding what Minji unnie meant every time she reminded her that her blood had to be inside her body (she tried to ask, twice, but the only answer she got was a smile and a change of topic and hasn’t had the chance to ask for a third time just yet), but she draws the line at having to walk for hours.
If she wanted to exercise that badly she would go to the gym. — what are people but deaths that haven’t happened yet?
The music flows around the kitchen, the perfect soundtrack to Bora’s laugh. — Pull me closer
✿ Looking back at 2021: ✿
I wrote less than I wanted but I managed to write things that I am proud of, and two of those things are between 5k and 10k, which is a long term goal of mine for stories, so I am pretty satisfied. I also managed to partipate in most of the things I wanted to and didn't have to drop out of any.
✿ Fic-writing goals for 2022: ✿
Hopefully more of not-event fic. And hey, maybe even some Irene/Seulgi since I didn't manage to do that this year!
